io sto benissimo

progredisce sullo sfondo, e l’archivio fotografico
di famiglia. I messaggi scambiati diventano
discontinua, esposta alla perdita, all’alterazione
e alla riscrittura.
The project stems from the encounter between
a private conversation held by the author
and her mother, while Alzheimer’s disease
progresses in the background, and the family
photographic archive. The messages they
exchange become short lines of verse, each
searching for its own place. The photographs
the mother took at seventeen, often blurred and
without sharp outlines, open a second narrative
layer. It brings us back to the essence of the
mother in a time before the two of them met,
when everything was still possible and today’s
witnesses were not yet on the scene. The work
connects two timeframes and two forms of
recording, and from them draws out a reflection
on memory as a discontinuous material, exposed
to loss, distortion and rewriting.
